This report sums up a survey on electronic companies members of the Union of Electronic Industries, conducted during the months May and June 1993. The survey used questionnaires which the companies were requested to fill out. It included the following items: Identifying information about the company, sort of ownership, money (sales, exports, R&D budget), manpower, sorted by professions and academic degrees, changes in manpower strength in 1993, forecast for the years 1993-97 and a list of specialized engineers whom the company is unable to recruit at present. The findings are based on data supplied by 21 companies employing over 100 workers each, out of 36 companies that belong to this groups, as detailed in table 1.
