Strategic thinking process for the state of Israel is presented.
Based on interviews of 40 prominent Israelis, from diverse walks of life, we find a wide common ground in considering the ‘Declaration of Independence’ (1948) to be Israel’s vision for the coming decades.
To validate our proposition that the vision chapter of the Declaration of Independence may be accepted, by all components of the Israeli society, as the common vision – we executed two public surveys among representative samples of the Jewish society (n=700) and the Arab society (n=503). Notably we found that 79% of the Jewish sample, and 72% of the Arab sample, have supported our proposition.
Updating the ‘rules of the game’ and broad sense of security are needed enablers.
Paradigms in education, Jewish-Democratic state, moral market economy, statehood, Israel in the Middle East, and foreign affairs – are discussed.
