This work was coordinated with the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at the Technion, a continuation of research conducted by the Neaman Institute by the Technion‘s management request. The research examined the level of research and engineering at the Technion university in Israel compared to the world, using bibliometrics indices.

Due to the complexity and multiplicity of research areas of industry and management faculty at the Technion, we found it necessary to examine separately the level of research and fertility of the faculty researchers, compared to similar faculties abroad.

Faculties that have been selected for comparison are:

  • School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE)- Georgia Institute of Technology;
  • School of Operations Research and Information Engineering (ORIE)- Cornell University;
  • Department of Management Science and Engineering (MSE)- Stanford University;
  • Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences (IEMS) – Northwestern University.

These faculties are both well-known and ranked high in their fields.
