International Collaboration On Energy – Israel-New Jersey Cooperation

In 2006, The S. Neaman Institute was asked by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (NJMC)- Renewable Energy Task Force, the Institute for Meadowlands Studies (IMS) and the Center for Energy, Economic and Environmental Policy at Rutgers University, to pinpoint Israeli companies which are capable of participating in solar energy tenders at NJ, Meadowlands. As part of the Meadowlands’ huge rehabilitation project, part of the resources will be dedicated to promote and install solar systems.

Israel has a well established technological knowledge base in environmental quality. Israel also has the know-how, research, and practical infrastructure for the development and application of solar technologies. Therefore, the Meadowlands research team requested a report examining Israeli companies in the field of solar energy, among them companies that specialize in: photovoltaics (PV) for electricity, concentrating solar power, solar heating and solar lighting.
