This book aims to present a broad picture of the Israeli economy and industry, hoping to derive lessons for the future from past events, and is a continuation of research at the Shmuel Naeeman Institute, in 2020.
The book includes three dimensions: an overview of the environment in which they operated, and highlighting the characteristics that enabled their growth despite the difficult opening conditions in the first years of the state. The discussion ends with a presentation and analysis of the conditions required for their success during the country’s first seventy years.
In the second dimension, we tried to understand where the economy and industry are headed in the next ten years in the world in general and in Israel in particular. We believe that will enable us to suggest the needed government policy in the next decade.
In the third dimension, we identified the dominant managerial characteristics and abilities that were necessary to deal with the business challenges. In light of this analysis, we propose a management model that we recommend to be implemented in the coming years.
