36 companies and organizations submitted the annual reporting forms to the Ministry of the Environmental Protection for the reporting year 2011.
Each of the companies that reported, enclosed a signed statement regarding the reliability of the data, as required by the Reporting and Registration System, which was developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Energy and Environment Team at the Neaman Institute at the Technion and a working group that included representatives from all sectors including various government agencies.
A special Excel file, which is used as a tool for quantifying the greenhouse gas emissions, was developed by the Neaman Institute team. The file is also used to guide companies to calculate their emissions. The spreadsheets wer designed to help companies that don’t have accessible databases or specialized software.
All the reports submitted in 2011 were sent to the Manufacturers Association server, where they were reviewed to verify the quality of the reported data. If there were any omissions or discrepancies between the data presented in the full calculations and the form filed with the Ministry, the SNI Team worked with companies to correct the inconsistencies.
All companies who reported their emissions data for 2011 received a “Signal of Recognition for Phase 1”, in a ceremony held on November 13th, 2012. The Signal was presented to organization representatives by the Ministry of Environmental Protection CEO, Attorney Alona Shefer – Karo.
