The newly inaugurated President of the USA, Mr. Joe Biden, has recently called for a virtual meeting of 40 world leaders to discuss the global climate crisis.
The Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, has also been invited to this summit, which will be held on the 22/4-23/4, Earth Day. Alongside the economic future benefits, the meeting will emphasize the urgency of taking immediate actions in the areas of electricity production, transportation and more.
This summit is a road sign on the way to the Climate Crisis Summit of the United Nations, which will be held in November 2021 in Glasgow (CPO26).
A concise document, summarizing over 40 plans, research papers, white papers and more, prepared by the Government, national authorities, NGOs, research institutions and alike, was submitted to the Israeli PM.
The main purpose of the document is to call the State of Israel to implement measures to reduce GHGs and to adapt to the impact of the climate crisis.
