This paper was submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, and provides a thorough review of the current available technologies for using waste as a source for alternative fuels, as well as an estimation of the available waste supply in Israel.

  • Review of the three waste-derived transportation fuel production technology branches: bio-chemical technologies, waste oil to bio-diesel bio-chemical technologies, and thermo-chemical technologies.
  • Review of the technologies and processes required in order to upgrade the processed outputs into transportation-grade fuels

Specification and quantification of the waste supply in Israel which is available for energy recovery in the form of transportation fuels. The analysis was performed both based on current waste recycling policies as well as without recycling allocation restrictions.
