The interim report of \u201cThe Shared Core of\u202fthe\u202fSchool System\u201d project presents the research conducted to describe Israel\u2019s public education system and to map the communalities across its various educational factions.<\/p>\n

The report outlines the legal guidelines and government regulations that define the de jure structure of the system and illustrates their implications through an analysis of the civics curriculum. It then examines the de facto situation by focusing on the endpoint of the system\u2014Israel\u2019s matriculation examinations (Bagrut). Finally, the report reviews four vision documents that propose reforms to the public education system aimed at strengthening social cohesion and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to participate fully in 21st-century society.<\/p>\n

The goal of the \u201cThe Shared Core of\u202fthe\u202fSchool System\u201d project is to develop a research-based policy document on this topic. This interim report describes the first stage of the project\u2019s research activities, designed to support the development of policy recommendations for advancing all streams of Israel\u2019s public education system.<\/p>\n

The interim report was presented at a meeting with researchers at the Samuel Neaman Institute on October 26, 2025. The video presents the lecture prepared for this meeting.<\/p>\n
