This report is part of a broader initiative and focuses on R&amp;D indices in the public sector and government research institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The report evaluates government research institutes in Israel and provides an international benchmarking analysis with selected public-sector R&amp;D systems or research institutes globally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter 1<\/strong> offers an overview of public-sector R&amp;D activities in Israel, covering government-funded and government-performed R&amp;D. It includes data on R&amp;D expenditures and funding by government ministries, international benchmarking across various indicators, and an analysis of disparities between Israel and other OECD countries in the allocation of government support for R&amp;D.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter 2<\/strong> features a literature review of leading government research institutes in key countries, including Canada, the United States, Germany, and prominent European institutions. It examines their organizational structures, research domains, funding mechanisms, and other dimensions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter 3<\/strong> provides a comprehensive mapping and current status report of government research institutes in Israel.
