{"id":37196,"date":"2007-09-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-08-31T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/neaman.s390.upress.link\/comparison-faculty-industrial-eng-technion-similar-faculties-us-universities-bibliometrics-indices\/"},"modified":"2024-11-12T17:44:19","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T15:44:19","slug":"comparison-faculty-industrial-eng-technion-similar-faculties-us-universities-bibliometrics-indices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/neaman.org.il\/en\/comparison-faculty-industrial-eng-technion-similar-faculties-us-universities-bibliometrics-indices\/","title":{"rendered":"Comparison of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at the Technion and similar faculties in U.S. universities using bibliometrics indices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"hps\">This work was<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">coordinated<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">with the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Dean of the Faculty<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of Industrial Engineering<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">at the Technion<\/span>, <span class=\"hps\">a continuation of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">research<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">conducted by<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the Neaman Institute by the<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"hps\">Technion<\/span>&#8216;s management <span class=\"hps\">request.<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"hps\">The research<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"hps\">examined the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">level of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">research<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">engineering<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">at the Technion<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">university<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in Israel compared<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to the world,<\/span> using bibliometrics indices.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hps\">Due to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the complexity<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">multiplicity of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">research areas<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of industry and management<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">faculty<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">at the Technion<\/span>, <span class=\"hps\">we found it necessary<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to examine<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">separately<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">level of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">research<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">fertility of the faculty\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"hps\">researchers,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">compared to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">similar<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">faculties<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">abroad<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hps\">Faculties<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">that have been selected<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">for comparison<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">are<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE)- Georgia Institute of Technology;<\/li>\n<li>School of Operations Research and Information Engineering (ORIE)- Cornell University;<\/li>\n<li>Department of Management Science and Engineering (MSE)- Stanford University;<\/li>\n<li>Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences (IEMS) &#8211; Northwestern University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"hps\">These<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">faculties<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"hps\">are both\u00a0well-<\/span><span class=\"hps\">known<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">ranked high<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in their fields<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This work was coordinated with the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at the Technion, a continuation of research conducted by the Neaman Institute by the\u00a0Technion&#8216;s management request.\u00a0The research\u00a0examined the level of research and engineering at the Technion university in Israel compared to the world, using bibliometrics indices.
