Zehev Tadmor holds the esteemed title of President Emeritus of Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Distinguished Institute Professor in the Wolfson Faculty of Chemical Engineering, and Chairman Emeritus of the Samuel Neaman Institute. He is engaged in public policy research in science and technology; engineering education; and university management, organization, and history. Tadmor is architect of The Grand Strategy for Israel <\/em>a seminal publication by the Neaman Institute. <\/em>He cofounded the nationwide organization Bashaar dedicated to promoting academia’s role in the advancement of Israeli society.<\/p>\n

Tadmor received his BSc and MSc degrees in Chemical Engineering from Technion, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology. Joining the Technion faculty, he subsequently served as Dean of the Chemical Engineering Faculty and Director of the Samual Neaman Institute. Internationally renowned for his groundbreaking research in polymer and plastics engineering and processing, Tadmor\u2019s major contribution lie in establishing scientific foundations and quantitative-mathematical modeling for these fields. His work transformed an empirical technology into a well-defined engineering discipline. He has published several influential books, numerous papers, and holds many patents.<\/p>\n

An elected member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and the USA National Academy of Engineering, Tadmor has received numerous awards. Notably, he was honored with an Honorary Doctorate in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Bologna; the Society of Plastics Engineers of the USA “Extrusion Division Distinguished Service Award” and “Outstanding Achievement Award in Plastics Engineering and Technology\u201d; and he was inducted into the Polymer Processing Hall of Fame. The EMET Prize was awarded to Prof. Zehev Tadmor in 2005, acknowledging \u201chis original and pioneering contribution to the field of polymer processing, transforming it into a new and important engineering discipline, and for his academic leadership as a preeminent mentor and researcher in chemical engineering in Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
