The traditional Eretz Israel orchard includes dozens of heritage grapevine varieties that have been cultivated and adapted over generations to suit the region\u2019s unique climatic conditions. These vines represent a rare “living and breathing” historical-archaeological find, with significant scientific importance in understanding their cultural heritage and preserving their rich biological diversity. In this lecture, we will present current research on ancient grapevine varieties in Israel and the Eastern Mediterranean. Exploring these heritage grape varieties offers valuable opportunities to discover previously unknown cultivars that were once cultivated and remain an integral part of Israel\u2019s natural treasures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
