About

Uri Kirsch is Professor Emeritus at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. He earned all his academic degrees from Technion, and then served as a Professor in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, holding the Chair of Structural Engineering. Over the years he contributed as a Visiting Professor in various universities abroad. His primary research areas were the analysis, design, and optimization of structures. His research studies are published in 4 books and some 100 papers, published by renowned international publishers and in leading scientific journals. Recognized for his scholarly contributions, he received numerous research awards from the US and German governments, and other esteemed international bodies. Kirsch undertook significant managerial roles, including head of the Structural Engineering Department, Technion Senior Vice President, Member of the Council for Higher Education, and Vice-Chairman of the Planning and Budgeting Committee (VATAT). Notably, in recent years, he has made substantial contributions to the field of Higher Education through numerous publications as a member of the Neaman Institute for National Policy.
