Engineering education in an evolving professional environment; academia-industry partnerships; the contribution of colleges to the advancement of the Israeli economy
Prof. Rosa Azhari is a faculty member in the Biotechnology Engineering Department at Braude College of Engineering, Karmiel. She served as President of Azrieli College of Engineering, Jerusalem (2016-2023) and as chair of the Board of Public Academic Colleges (VaRaM) during the last year of her presidency. Azhari is a former member of the Council for Higher Education (CHE) (2008-2016) where she chaired the sub-committee for engineering, sciences, and paramedical programs. She was also a member of the CHE Planning and Budgeting Committee (2013-2016). Azhari was formerly Head of the Biotechnology Engineering Department and later Vice-President for Academic Affairs at Braude College of Engineering. She is among the founders of the Israel Chapter of the Controlled Release Society, and its past president. Her research interests include applications of biodegradable biomaterials in tissue engineering and drug delivery. Her current interests include development and adaptation of innovative methodologies for teaching engineering in an evolving professional environment, promoting academia-industry partnerships, and investigating the contribution of colleges to the advancement of the Israeli industrial sector and economy.
