Nitsa Movshovitz-Hadar is a Professor Emerita of Mathematics Education at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. In 2003, she was a Laureate in Residence at La Villa Media in Grenoble. From 1998 to 2002, Movshovitz-Hadar served as the director of Madatech – Israel National Museum of Science, and since 2012 she has been an active member of the advisory board of MoMath, the US National Museum of Mathematics. She possesses 12 years of experience as a high-school mathematics teacher. Movshovitz-Hadar is the founder and head of Kesher-Cham, an R&D Center for Mathematics Education, where she has developed innovative curricula, including an award-winning series of video dramas on mathematics broadcasted by Israel Educational Television. She has published widely and authored three books. Presently, her professional interests are focused on three R&D projects: (i) integrating mathematics news snapshots into the high school curriculum; (ii) developing and disseminating wiki-based software to share teachers’ pedagogical knowledge, and (iii) personalized teaching to address the individual needs, qualifications, and learning styles of students.
