Meirav Aharon Gutman is an assistant professor in the Technion Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at Technion and the academic director of the Social Hub at Technion. She is a senior research fellow at the Samuel Neaman Institute and a National Planning and Building Council member.
Gutman earned her three degrees in Sociology and Anthropology from Tel Aviv University. Her research has received numerous awards, including a Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Marie Curie Award for Young Researchers.
Following her first postdoctoral position in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew University under the guidance of Prof. Tamar Almor, Gutman completed her second postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University in New York, under the supervision of Prof. Gil Eyal.
Gutman was a consultant to the Ministry of Defense on planning the relocation of IDF bases to the Negev. She served as head of the Center for Mediterranean Culture and Urbanism in Bat Yam and Head of the Strategic Planning Division in the Holon Municipality. Currently, Gutman leads the Socio-tech research group at the Smart Social Strategy Lab (3S).
