Leveraging international cooperation in solving the problem of energy in the future
Technion Energy Program
You are kindly invited to a seminar on:
Leveraging International Collaboration to Address Our Future Energy Challenges
Lecturer
Dr. Eric Isaacs
Director, Argonne National Laboratory
Professor of Physics, James Franck Institute, University of Chicago
On Sunday 25th April, 2010 at 16:15 hrs.
Short reception and light snacks at 16:00 hrs.
Coler Auditorium (Coler-California Visitors Center)
Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa.
Drawing from his work at Argonne National Laboratory and elsewhere, Dr. Isaacs will focus his talk on four significant research platforms — energy storage, materials science, combustion science, and decision science. Each one is critical in the development of an all-electric transportation system, a smart electrical grid, and innovative new materials for advanced batteries and cost-effective solar energy applications. This presentation is part of a team visit from Argonne to exchange ideas and foster partnerships with leading innovators in nanotechnology, solar energy, transportation technology, and advanced batteries and other energy storage technologies. The United States’ first national laboratory, Argonne is one of the important scientific and technological centers in the U.S, conducting R&D in the national interest in support of the United States Department of Energy.
