Interview with Prof. Rachelle Alterman in the "Security Zone" in Galatz

Prof. Rachelle Alterman in a radio interview with Tali Lipkin-Shahak in the program  "Security Zone" in Galei Zahal. The topic: the security challenges of "Israel's Towerization". What will happen during national emergencies (skuds attack, earthquates) when major parts of the urban population all over the country will be residing in very tall towers with hundreds of children in each?.

On October 15th Idan Liebes from the SNI Environment and Energy team gave a lecture at seminar about deployment of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The seminar, which was held at the Porter School for Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University, was organized by the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel and the Association of Green Energy Companies in Israel, in association with the Department of Chief Scientist at the Ministry of Energy and the  Fuel Choices and Smart Mobility Initiative. The seminar included a exhibition of electric vehicles and charging stations, with attendance of representatives of from a large number of local authorities as well as commercial entities in the industry. The talk, titled "Preparation policy for private electric transportation in municipalities", covered topics related to electric vehicle and charging infrastructure, including forecasts, challenges, implementation models, economic aspects and practical policy recommendations to the authorities.

The need and the opportunity to accelerate the upgrading of the veteran industry by taking advantage of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Technologies  were presented , and the four main programs that the Center for Industrial Excellence at the Samuel Neaman Institute carried out during these days in cooparation with the Ministry of Economics and Industry in cooperation with the Manufacturers' Association , were surveyed.


A new initiative was presented by the Samuel Neaman Institute to leverage corporate responsibility for the initiation of the veteran industrial industry through the integration of our elite industry.

On April 17, the Samuel Neaman Institute launched the Zvi Grilkes Data Center, headed by Prof. Shlomo Meital.
The research center is named after Prof. Zvi Grilikas who survived the Holocaust (Dachau), and on the basis of his research the State of Israel today leads investments in innovation and science.
Present at the Samuel Neaman Institute were senior economists and the Bank of Israel, such as Prof. Eitan Shishansky, Prof. Shaul Lach,
Prof. Efraim Sadka, Prof. Kobi Metzer, Prof. Zvi Eckstein, Dr. Nadine Trajtenberg, Dr. Alon Eisenberg and others, as well as the Institute's researchers.

On March 19, Dr. Nohad Ali, Prof. Sammy Smooha and Dr. Reuven Gal, held the first meeting of the Arab-Jewish-State Advisory Forum at the Samuel Neaman Institute.

Prof. Ofira Ayalon was awarded the 2018 ‘Michael Landau Prize’ for the Sciences and Research in the field of sustainability

Prof. Ofira Ayalon was awarded by ‘Michael Landau Prize’ for the Sciences and Research in the field of sustainability.
From the judges' reasoning: "Sustainability is a cardinal area of ​​our continuous existence on Earth. The field is comprised of a vast array of disciplines, each of which contributes to the foundation of our existence and the existence of future generations.
Therefore, the committee examined the range of contributions of each candidate over the range of issues related to sustainability and found that the chosen candidate made significant contributions over a wide range of topics related to sustainability issues in Israel as well as global problems.
After consideration of letters of recommendation and examination of the contribution to the field of sustainability, the committee reached the decision to award the Landau Science Prize in the field of sustainability to Prof. Ofira Ayalon.
