Guy Stecklov

Dr Guy Stecklov is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His main area of focus is the relationship between resources and demographic changes in poor countries. This includes the connection between intergenerational transfers and childbearing in Cote d’Ivoire as well as a number of recent papers using data from experimental poverty programs to assess the impact of public cash transfers on migration and fertility. In recent years he has started a number of research studies on the social consequences of terrorism. These consequences are measured using a diverse array of outcomes including traffic accidents, mother-child interactions, household expenditure patterns, and labor market mobility. His research has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Demography, the Journal of Health Economics, Population Studies, and the Annual Review of Sociology, among others.
